Contract Lifecycle Management for Dummies

Contract Life Cycle Management DummyWhen searching online for information about contract life cycle management solutions, I've noticed that most results lead me to discussions regarding procurement and the initial pre-contract stages. It seems that there are slim pickings for anyone looking for advice or best practice regarding the actual administration of contracts in post procurement stages. To be sure there is much information out there, but it is mostly written for people who are already comfortable with the subject. These observations have lead me to write a series of posts that will discuss the actual administration of a contract, while discussing best practices, and using real life customer examples to highlight each topic. I have created a similarly named discussion group on LinkedIn, where I hope to be able to answer questions and dig deeper into each topic. My aim is to provide an eye level description of what contract lifecycle administration is, what its constituents are, and how they might relate to your business. If you have been using a jerry-rigged solution to manage your company’s contract lifecycles, or if you haven’t been using one at all I urge you to read on. While this post is just the prologue, each new post belonging to this group will be clearly marked and appropriately linked to its siblings. The Dummy will also serve as an indication for this group. My goal is to provide people with enough information to be able to choose the right kind of CLM solution for their business's needs. openSource’s fully matured CLM technology has features that run the full gamut of a contract’s lifecycle, and I will use them to demonstrate different topics.
